We’re looking for a Consultant or Senior Ecologist to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team in either our Cheltenham or Cirencester office.

The Role

Benefiting from working in a multidisciplinary consultancy team, you will provide sound ecological advice and project support to Project Managers across a range of projects which vary in size, types and complexities.

You will be positive, proactive and solution focussed, have demonstrable experience of environmental consultancy, and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment. You will be effective at working on your own and as part of a 30+ strong ecology team located across our three offices.

A full, valid UK driving licence is essential, with access to a vehicle for business use preferred.

The Role

We are looking for team players to join the growing Landscape team, working across a range of project sizes, types and complexities including world class leisure facilities, new settlements and renewable energy projects. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop professional skills and technical ability, working closely with our existing team of experienced and respected Landscape Architects and the wider EDP team. This post will offer the successful candidate a wealth of experience encompassing not only landscape, but also aspects of ecology, heritage, masterplanning and arboriculture.

You will share our desire to create environmentally-responsive and exceptional places; and be at the leading edge of professional best practice.

Your Skills

  • A confident professional with drive and ambition;
  • An interest in multi-disciplinary planning and design;
  • You will ideally be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative Suite, and the standard Microsoft packages. It would be advantageous (though not essential) for you also to have experience of working with GIS software;
  • Excellent written communication with an eye for detail;

The Opportunity

The Opportunity

Our Archaeology and Heritage Team is looking for an Archaeology and Heritage Consultant or Senior Archaeology and Heritage Consultant to join the Team in either Cheltenham or Cirencester to help us deliver our expanding portfolio of interesting, diverse and challenging projects.

The Role

If you are applying to be an Archaeology and Heritage Consultant at EDP, you will have experience of archaeological fieldwork and a proven track record in the production and completion of reports relating to the planning process i.e. desk-based assessments, heritage setting assessments and written schemes of investigation. You will also provide technical project support to the wider EDP Archaeology and Heritage Team.

If you are applying to be a Senior Archaeology and Heritage Consultant at EDP you will have all of the above, but additionally demonstrable experience in a consultancy environment and across a range of project types and scales.

For both roles the enthusiasm to get involved with multi-disciplinary projects is essential, but also the desire to work effectively with our clients, project managers and members of the EDP Team. Most of all, you will provide (with training as necessary) solution-focused and pragmatic advice to our clients on a wide variety of archaeology and heritage projects and deliver high quality technical outputs to inform and support a range of development proposals.
